PRODUCT DETAILS
The Garrett turbo speed sensor measures compressor wheel speed on any turbo, so you can see exactly where the turbo is operating on its compressor map. Every kit includes the speed sensor and the wiring harness for easy installation and simple data logging. Street kits add the Garrett speed gauge, and the G Series kits include the sensor bolt.
Select GTX turbochargers come standard with a fully machined speed sensor port: remove the plug and screw in the kit for your application. The GT/GTX kits do not fit G Series turbochargers. Garrett's instructions include detailed machining drawings for all Garrett GT catalog turbochargers and general guidelines for other compressor housings.

Note: some Garrett turbo pages list a different kit than this chart. For example, Garrett lists the GT/GTX kits (781328-0001 and 781328-0002) on its G-XRace turbo pages and on the G25-585 and G38-1000 pages. If you are not sure which kit fits your turbo, call us at (724) 732-8948.
Getting Maximum Performance From Your Turbo
Comparing boost and shaft speed on a compressor map shows whether the turbo is operating where it makes peak power over a wide range. All Garrett speed sensor kits work with data loggers, and the Garrett gauge's maximum speed recall holds the highest wheel speed for five minutes for easy mapping. The speed data lets you closely estimate the engine's airflow without a flow bench, confirm the turbo match and make sure the turbo is not overspeeding, so you can avoid operating conditions that could damage it. The kit can also be used with an aftermarket engine control unit (ECU) to limit compressor speed.
