TURBINE HOUSING

PRODUCT DETAILS

The G-Series G40-1150 71mm is a Garrett G-Series large-frame turbo. It uses a ball bearing cartridge with steel cages, an Inconel turbine wheel and a lightweight aluminum backplate, with fully machined speed sensor and pressure ports. Water fittings are included with the supercore, and the stainless steel turbine housings are sold as the variants below.

Garrett rates the G-Series G40-1150 71mm for 500 to 1,150 horsepower on 2.0 to 6.0 liter engines.

Important Information

Garrett calculates its horsepower ratings from the compressor map choke flow, which represents the potential flywheel horsepower of the turbo. Actual results depend on the engine, supporting modifications and calibration.

Garrett sets the maximum allowable speed for this turbo at 125,000 rpm. Operating above that speed can damage the turbo and cause premature failure. A turbo speed sensor (sold separately) lets you monitor shaft speed.

For race vehicles only. Not for use on public roads.
